Rijsbrecht Verschaffel (1986, Belgium) is a visual craftsman who left behind the tenebrously comfortable Low Lands for the clement light of the South. Currently based in Rome, he graduated in translation (MA, Free University of Brussels, 2014) and as a Master in Audiovisual Arts (The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Ghent). In the past years, Rijsbrecht Verschaffel made images, videos and objects from a specific perspective: the position of the body towards the lived moment in urban space, art history and materiality.
